Bill Moyers Will Be Missed

I grew up watching Bill Moyers on PBS. His interviews with Joseph Campbell inspired my interest in world religion and mythology. The many excellent books he's authored are essential companions to his television shows. His powerful lectures and articles expressing the true nature of our democracy should inspire a new generation of young people who care about the future of our country. Of course everyone knows that Bill Moyers has recently retired after 33 years of Emmy Award winning television, the last three years of it hosting the program, "NOW with Bill Moyers." In the past few years he has been quite outspoken about this Bush administration, and I hope he will have an influence in our public debate. Unfortunately, thought provoking television has been going the way of the dinosaur in recent years. Check out this New York Times article about his stellar career.
